Sea Menagerie

Sea serpents ascend the depths,
unfolding silent bodies
through dark waters
sleekly rearing as one.

From the hissing mouth
Bird waves skitter
across the surface
fluttering spray on wave tops.

The barest breeze soothes
the prowling sea cat,
wave stalking beneath the surface
stroking the body flat
to a rippled skin.
